Page 14 of #Nightsmoke is inked. Gonna color on Wednesday. I think I’m going to post one page at a time, so you guys won’t have to wait so damn long between updates. Unless it’s a crazy spread or something. Try to get back to a weekly schedule. Fingers crossed. (Taken with instagram)

Process gif for the Batgirl drawing. More detail on the previous link. Had a lot of fun working on this. New coloring methods are always fun to experiment with.

When I put the colors on this last night, all the values seemed wrong. The watercolor brush I had been using seemed fake and forced. So, I scrapped the values, kept the colors and put a luminosity layer on top to push and pull the values out. I’d never tried this way before; reminded me of a 2D ZBrush. I might start coloring Nightsmoke this way now.

Digging the New 52 Batgirl a lot more than I thought I would. Great writing, great art, the whole shebang.
Also, I’m trying out a new coloring process. Did the values last night; will add colors tonight. I’ll probably clean up a couple things that bug me about this in the morning light, too.

Did an hourly comic yesterday for fun. Some of what I’ve been seeing from other people have been fantastic, but I figured I’d throw mine in the mix. Enjoy. :)
